Hello, friends!
Yes, yes, I know it's been over a year. Call it a blog breakdown. I was just totally burned out. I ran out of things to say. Oh, several times over the months I thought "I should blog about that", but I never could get up the motivation to do it.
Then I was also falling "behind the times". While I have Facebook and Twitter accounts, I never use them, because I'm an introvert and I find them overly social. As social media became more integral to successful blogging, I found that I didn't want to go in that direction.
And this is in no way meant to be a slight on any of my bloggy friends, but it started to seem to me that there was very little new content in blogging. Everything was basically recycled from one blog to the next. Nothing's wrong with that (as long as you give credit!), and much of my content came about the same way. Then Pinterest came into the picture and #1) I often saw things pinned from other blogs that I'd already done on Homebody a couple years ago, and #2) I felt like anything I might blog about in the future had already been seen by millions on Pinterest.
Then I started thinking that I've got three solid years of content on this blog, and I know that I still get about 100 visits a day, so somebody still likes it. I don't have much that's new to share with you right now (my house looks pretty much the same every Christmas; do I really need to show you again?), but there are a lot of people who haven't seen my old stuff. So, I'm going to start pinning some of my previous content, starting with Thrifty Gifty, which was, incidentally, both the event that first really grew my blog, and the thing that began my descent into burnout.
So, I'm back, kinda sorta. I may occasionally post. You might see something of mine on Pinterest. At this point, however, I can't see becoming a frequent blogger again.
I'll enjoy a visit with you now and then, but I'm still a homebody at heart!

Blogging can be a handful at times.
I've said this before and I'll say it again---one must be true to themselves.
My blog may not have a ton of followers or a million hits but it is mine and I like it fine.
You have to do what is best and easist for you. Glad to see you now and hioe to see more soon.
